The NPP benefits from Alan Kyeremanten's resignation, according to Nana Akomea

Alan Kyeremanten's decision to withdraw from the competition to be the flagbearer has been praised by Nana Akomea, the director of communications for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Campaign.

Speaking on Accra's Asempa FM, he stated, "My elder brother Alan Kyerematen's withdrawal from the NPP flagbearer race's second round is wonderful news. I had anticipated it, and now I anticipate even more competitors dropping out.

Nana Akomea replied in the positive when asked by the show's host, Osei Bonsu [Alias OB], whether he anticipates Mr. Kyerematen and his supporters will back Dr. Bawumia.

"I believe so. Once you take the initiative, you become the person that everyone wants to be around. Everyone enjoys a successful team. We shall thus invite Alan and his supporters to join us. The party has blatantly demonstrated where its heart is, which is why I said I anticipate all the others to drop out of the contest. He questioned, "What is the need for the contest if, in an election with ten candidates, the votes of nine people cannot even equal the half of what one person received? Then it is really clear where the party's heart is, so what is the need for the contest?"

And the NPP acts in the same way. It makes a pretty obvious choice as to where it wants to go. Therefore, once the party makes a decision, nobody can change it. I wouldn't have stayed in the race given the August 26 results, and for that reason I'm not surprised Alan withdrew," he said.

On Tuesday, September 5, Mr. Kyeremanten declared his resignation from the second round of the presidential election. He did so after astonishingly finishing third in the super delegates' meeting and claimed electoral irregularities, unjust treatment, and bias.

Despite announcing his withdrawal, Mr. Kyerematen has not yet specified what he would do next. However, he has stated that he will speak with his family and team members and will shortly make an announcement regarding his future involvement in politics in Ghana.
