National Lottery Authority Welcome Government Decision To Scrap Betting


The betting community has accepted the government's decision to scrap out betting tax. The operators and gamblers can't wait for the decision to be endorsed. Sammy Awuku, former Director-General of the National Lottery Authority business have run down since the implementation of betting tax. He said because the betting tax is affecting the National Lottery Authority which is owned by the government, finds it difficult for gamblers to again profit. He denounced it as unhelpful for the gamblers.

The scrapping of betting tax will stimulate Ghanaian gambling industry by increasing betting activities and income. Kwame Boateng, the CEO of a local business said "Today is fantastic for the betting industry." He praised the removal of the tax as a way to improve operations which is good a good decision for the nation.
