A three-story Accra structure that was closer to Asofan and behind the Ofankor Market has collapsed. According to a Police Situational Report event, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at around 11.20 GMT, the police received word that a three-story building had collapsed at the Ofankor poultry farm in Accra.

Residents in the neighborhood speculate that the building's collapse may have been triggered by the day's heavy rains. Everyone fled the area when a worker on the job site noticed that the structure was ready to fall and raised the alarm.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is looking into the situation, nevertheless. The GNFS spokeswoman, ADO1 Alex King Nartey, stated that the tenants claimed no one was trapped within the structure. They said that no work has been done within the structure for around six months. However, when we spoke to a neighbor, he said there was someone plastering, and when he realized the building was about to fall, he rushed out and called everyone out.

To protect their landlord, I believe the renters are, nevertheless, stretching the truth. "The primary reason of the collapse has not been determined, but I doubt that the right building materials were employed and adhered to.According to Mr. Nartey, "The tenants were thinking that the heavy rains from yesterday brought the entire building down."
