Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has urged those in control at the Etihad to be active in the transfer market.
With only one victory in their previous 13 games in all competitions, City has dropped to seventh place in the Premier League standings. With one more game played than Arsenal, who return to action on Friday night, they are five points outside of the top four.
Guardiola has not been shy about talking about his team's injury problems, as he was only able to put three senior players on the bench for Thursday's 1-1 draw with Everton due to fitness concerns, including third-choice goalkeeper Scott Carson. According to Guardiola, "We have to add players, definitely," to Amazon Prime. I believe we must because we struggle, particularly in the center and at the back.
However, I have no idea what will happen after stating that. Winter transfer windows are difficult, but everyone knows that. Even our players understand our predicament and our course of action."
Throughout 2025, City is anticipated to be quite active in the transfer market. Guardiola wants to add more defenders and find some serious competition for striker Erling Haaland, but he also wants to find a substitute for the injured Rodri.
The Etihad is planning to rebuild its team, and since it understands how vital it is to hire, it will move its plans forward to the January window rather than waiting until the summer as is customary.
