In his speech, President Mahama reassured the populace of his administration's dedication to bringing about enduring peace.
President Mahama declared that establishing peace in Bawku would be one of his top objectives if God granted his wish and he were elected president. He emphasized that since taking his oath of office at the Black Star Square precisely one week ago, this visit is his first significant task outside of Accra. The Bawku residents were reassured by the president that his administration is addressing the security problem with tangible measures. He said, "We want to reassure you that we are setting up the different appointments so that we can have ministers and other security-related officials take charge.
Assuring the community that he is fully aware of the problems and is dedicated to finding a solution, the president urged them to be patient and restrained. With God's help, he said, "I will handle it, and I can guarantee you to have faith in myself and this administration, and peace is going to return—permanent peace will return to Bawku."
